Am I the only one who is a bit puzzled by the on-going eight-day AU summit in Addis Ababa’s political mayhem?
Really, are we fooling ourselves in thinking that the African Agenda will ever be taken seriously at any global platform? I mean, didn’t both candidates fail to secure the two-thirds majority? So, how come the other candidate gets to “win”?
Is this a boxing match?
For as long as Africans continue to display a united sense of illogic when we are on the spotlight, we will forever be known to be excellent at nothing but smiling, dancing and ululating!
I am not saying that South African Foreign affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma should have been given the seat. But neither should Mr Ping!
The current Deputy Chairperson, Kenyan Mr Erastus Mwencha should have been nominated as the interim Head, no?
Surely the elections could have been conducted in a manner that showcases Africa’s capability to follow stringently brilliant processes. I mean, why waste time and effort if there are no clear cut measures as to who the winner is and who the loser is, or is there?
Ag, there ain’t nothing much to write home about here…..the writing is on the wall!
