Birthday Appreciation

Wow, I am truly appreciative of the wonderful wishes that are pouring in to me from Bhutan, Canada, Chile, Italy, London, Uganda, USA and Zimbabwe as well as all over South Africa.  Thanks to all of you for wishing me well – I am grateful for this day, for life, for good health, for unconditional love and for a chance to continue to live.  It truly has been a tough year; a good life which is full of growth.  It is a life which continues to be filled with an unbalanced and haphazard mix of mistakes and lessons, laughs and tears, pleasures and pains.

Honestly, not much has gone according to plan so far; but when God carries us as humans we get forced to  plan a little bit less, I have learnt to plan less. I am thankful for this precious learning.
My sporadic feelings of spiritual disconnection continue to ironically connect me back to God and I humbly accept that His will is more important. It is scary to feel adrift, however during these uncertain times my family and friends continue to be tremendously supportive – the unconditional love is overwhelming at times.  No words can express how I feel about everyone’s kindness; you always sprinkle me with generous compassion and care, do I deserve it?

Thanks to Pastor Andrew and Vanessa Roebert for such a powerfully relevant verse which was chosen especially for me today: Isaiah 41:10.  It gives me strength and hope. I will try to acknowledge everyone’s wishes and messages individually, but should I unintentionally miss any, I ask for forgiveness.  As I celebrate my birthday, may we all be eternally showered with sacred blessings and mercy?  I send all of you light and love; health and wealth; abundant contentment and hopeful dreams as I receive these favours myself.  Let us continue to share love and laughter.

I tried several times to count the hundreds of messages I received today but I lost count – that is when I realized that indeed I cannot possibly count my blessings, like stars up in the sky, they are uncountable.  A big thanks to my mom and the gang for the twelve pink and lemon roses – I believe that they signify blooming buds that faithfully lie ahead, I recieve them with positivity and joy.
To my brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces I say “keep up the good work – I do not know where I would be without you”.  You continue to be my anchors at all times.

No expression can fully articulate my gratitude to my lovely daughter Chichi for being patient with me, content with everything and nonjudgemental with everyone, always.

So, this is a short note to everyone to say please accept my humble appreciation as the journey continues; as we sail on.

Let us keep the faith, it is worth it

Talk about unconditional love!
