In one way or the other, don’t we all look for the light in the pouring rain? Time and time again, we keep repeating this unrewarding exercise until we realize that light and warmth cannot be found in a storm – that is life.
Yet life is a game we absolutely hate to lose.
At this point, we note that the world outside can be so unkind.
But we keep counting on someone bigger and stronger….the omnipotent one to carry us through, to free our souls as we drift away removing ourselves from the norm.
As we sail on we begin to learn to surrender to a powerfully loving force that keeps pulling us towards Light and inevitably, we grow.
Deepak Chopra puts it simply when he says:
You don’t want to stand rigid like a tall oak that cracks and collapses in the storm. Instead, you want to be flexible, like a reed that bends with the storm and survives.
So, yes losing the game should not worry us – some games need to be lost anyway – that creates a blessed balance. Before we know it, in no time we do arrive at a peaceful space where we don’t even see the “game” and therefore winning or losing matters no more!
It is only then that we stop searching. We slowly and tenderly lean forward and learn to follow the path of no resistance: a long and lonely path. I hear that this path is also rewarding, but I must confess, I still have to experience the rewarding part.
Talk about rewarding storms, how healthy they are . . . !
