\nI could not agree any stronger with Oprah Winfrey when she states that \u201cpeople who lie about their age are denying the truth and contributing to a sickness pervading our society – wanting to be what you\u2019re not in what I know for sure<\/strong><\/span><\/em> July 2011.  <\/span>In my opinion, this sickness does not only result from people denying their age, but it also result from people denying to acknowledge the fullness of who they are as individuals. As I approach my 40th birthday, I feel blessed to notice that like a coin, each one of us is uniquely who we are because of a divine combination of good and bad; achievement and failure; high and low; – that is what makes us human.  <\/span>Acknowledging our shortcomings, accepting our mistakes, embracing our failures is the secret to contributing to a healthiness that is urgently paramount in our society.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/a>With this realization, I know for sure that I can start to live my life with peace and harmony only if I acknowledge my mistakes, accept my short comings and embrace my failures – in actual fact, as I look back into my past, I realize that during those times in my life when I consider myself to have failed, that was when I essentially passed because it is during that period that I positioned myself to receive the greatest gift of life: grace……or mercy!<\/span><\/div>\n
\nI am not implying that we should go out of our way to wrong other people, animals and the planet – what I am saying is: as humans when we encounter failure, life is perhaps actually challenging us to test our levels of honesty. <\/span>Therefore, from now on I promise to boldly live my life with courage as I dismally and successfully FAIL and PASS the tests of life – this is what I call the law of balance.  <\/span><\/div>\n
\nI am entering a phase of my life where I am learning that I am not only perfectly balanced, but I am getting closer to expressing my true SELF wholly as I heal and begin to approach life with serenity and self-acceptance – without wanting to be perfect. By the way what is \u201cperfect\u201d?  <\/span>Perhaps perfection lies in the acceptance of the fact that each one of us is uniquely and perfectly balanced no matter where we are in life.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
