\nI have been asked on several occasions what the word “success” means.  Honestly, in response, I have always mumbled some mumbo-jumbo around wealth accumulation, influential power, social status, material accrual, etc.  But today I witnessed a breath-taking moment; and that for me, clarifies the word success.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAnd here goes my analogy:<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/a>Success is a when a bird builds a nest, lays an egg that hatches to produce a healthy, strong fledgling that is full of life, hope and colour.  <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nIn no time, the baby bird is ready to leave the comfortable and safe nest – a time has come for it to go out and fend for itself.  What a daunting yet inevitable step!<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\nThe baby bird gathers strength and courage and gets ready to venture out.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span>But as the baby bird vulnerably flies out of the nest to the mysterious world it takes one last look at the nest it had for a while called home.  The young one proudly takes a snapshot of what it is about to go and replicate.  <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/div>\n

<\/span>As it steals one last glance, it catches a view of its sad mother who with a mixture of emotions watches the whole act.  <\/span>Both mother bird and baby bird sadly wave good bye, motionlessly.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>The mother is sad that the chick is leaving home yet it is confident that because the baby is fully prepared, everything shall be fine.  <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/div>\n

<\/span>The baby bird is excited and looking forward to the freedom that lies ahead.  It cannot believe that finally a time has come to explore the sky – apprehension sets in.<\/span>Yet, they both fly into different directions knowing that all shall be well!<\/span><\/p>\n
